From Palapye, we ride north to Nata where we stay in a tented camp amidst the wilderness. This camp, built around a watering hole, offers incredible wildlife sightings, including elephants and various other wildlife.

Here riders can experience the Victoria Fall's majestic roar and mist, enjoy a dinner cruise on the Zambezi, and explore adventure activities such as helicopter and microlight flights.

04
The long way across

Our journey continues further inland when we ride from Livingstone to Lusaka and finally on to Chipata. Our journey passes through numerous vibrant towns and villages, we encounter traffic, we explore vast stretches of roads where no life seems to exist. We cross rivers of which the Luangwa River is the most impressive and enjoy the newly constructed great east road, a scenic road with winding curves which takes further and further away to the east.

Relaxing in South Luangwa

In Chipata we take a detour north to Mfuwe which is located on the boundaries of the South Luangwa National Park. In Mfuwe we enjoy a relaxing 2-night safari stay. We take time out to enjoy some of Zambia's finest wildlife experiences when we go on safari in the South Luangwa Park and enjoy sundowners overlooking the river plains.

Welcome to Malawi

After returning to Chipata we cross into Malawi. Our journey follows the scenic Golomoti escarpment which takes us all the way to Dedza. We ride through traditional villages often having to evade cyclists transporting insane loads of wood and charcoal on the bikes. We ride along roads lined with vendors selling charcoal and food, cattle lazily grazing around crossing roads without warning, pedestrians staring at our motorcycles and school children waving energetically at us.

Visiting Mount Mulanje

We head further south to the Mulanje region. It is a predominantly agricultural region well known for its tobacco and tea plantations. It is here where you find Malawi's highest mountain called the Mulanje massif (3002m). We stay at the foothills of Mount Mulanje which is near the Mozambican border.

The shores of Lake Malawi

Our final days on tour are spent along the shores of Lake Malawi. From Mulanje we head north along the shores of Lake Malawi passing by the towns of Mangochi and Salima.
